yosemite trip cont. and moving update

Sunday morning after breakfast and coffee we planned a hike up to Yosemite falls..

that wraps up our Yosemite weekend! 

The movers were here all day Tuesday and we have been sleeping on our air mattress and have begun the living-out-of-the-suitcase dream! The road trip to Texas begins on Monday and in the mean time we are patching up those pesky holes in our wall and doing one last deep clean now that all the furniture is gone.

playing catch up: (1) Fam visit//End of April

((Since I have seriously been slackin on the bloggin I'm going to do a little catch up series!  We've been busy with visitors and a couple trips to Vegas and one quick trip to Florida for a beautiful beach wedding.))

I did a little post when my mom, steppy, and brother arrived but never finished...

The Royal Wedding started at 1am here. so while most sane people just DVR'd it (I did, but just for mom. and to watch it as much as possible, duh) I set my alarm for 1, turned on the live coverage and baked a wedding cake for them. whatever, I'm festive..

ok. this is embarrassing, but it's true. and I know the cake is pretty ghetto with the blue gel frosting and all. it was 1am, people, remember??

anywho. along with royal wedding festivities we did lots of eating out and some hiking/sight seeing. I worked every day they were here (bummmmerrr) but we squeezed in as much as possible!

On their last night we went to Hula's for dinner!

after dinner William was so excited to finally have a "no parents allowed" sleepover where he had big hopes and dreams of "staying up all night" and playing video games til the wee hours.  En route from dinner to the house (like < 5 mins) E and will were acting all crazy and william started laughing so hard which progressed into a coughing fit which progressed into vomit all over the backseat of our car.  I couldn't help but laugh. I mean, it was funny. They're all "la la la.... silly song.... la la la la...having the best time ever.." and bam. vomit. (he was fine) but immediately took a bath, read his book and went to bed. the next day he told mom the only reason he didn't stay up all night was because he "partied too hard". hahahaa. love that kid.

ok, on to working on some more catch up posts. so stay tuned! (oh and I plan on getting to my emails soon, too. thanks for still reading/commenting even though i've sucked at my blog lately!!)

weekend hike

the weather has been so wonderful, i hope it stays!!

mom, steppy & lil bro are coming in about a week and a half, couldn't be more excited to see them!

hafta run. going to watch the lifetime movie special on will&kate. obvi. eeeeeeeeeeekk can't wait for that royal wedding either! nighty night. xoxx

big sur & a thrift & mardi gras

Hello blog friends!

have not felt very inspired lately to write about anything in particular so my apologies for these lacking/non-existent posts as of late...

we had a lovely weekend hiking down in Big Sur... followed by drinks by the river and a Saturday night cookout.

of course, you all know that I am not the best when it comes to photog things.. I did remember to bring my camera for the hike and river escapades, however the memory card was still in my computer at home. ugghh. I have got to work on my documentation skills.

I can't wait to go back when it's warm enough to actually sit in those chairs.... with a book.... or drink... or both...

E and I went running down by the water then made an impromptu trip to goodwill where I found two pottery barn throw pillows in perfect condition for $5! woohooo!

and one more thing... in honor of mardi gras where some of my fave ladies are celebrating the bachelorette-dom of cuz-in-law Jenna...

weekend looked a little like...

lots and lots of rain.
it was actually very nice. I don't remember the last time I saw a rain storm last for 37 mins here! this rain lasted for dayyss!

Friday we went to a chocolate and wine tasting at the public library. yep 3 of my favorite things, wine, chocolate and library!! and all for a good cause!
Saturday the rain never let up... I talked to my mom and sis on the phone for about an hour (they were hanging in Tallahassee) so they put me on speaker and we had a ball! I miss them SO much.

E and I then went to the good ol laundromat to do some much needed laundering.  ya see, when you live in a lil apartment in California, chances are you don't have a washer and dryer.  I spend lots of time in search for quarters and have emptied out my piggy bank so many times the poor guy doesn't even know what a quarter feels like anymore! so off we went with a week or two's worth of laundry.

annd welcome to my laundry outfit. i'm sorry. shoulda seen my shoes. idk what they have to do with my laundry not being done....? when in Rome i guess?

Sunday we were blessed with the sun! we got up early, went to the gym, then brunch! then Point Lobos for some hiking! it was an awesomeeee day. mainly because I love brunching. omg brunching is a word..? it didn't red scribble underneath it....! COOL

Weekend & Valentines re-cap

Almost every Saturday we go hiking with our friends and this weekend our destination was up in the Santa Cruz mountain region. It was so green and there was a creek running alongside the entire trail which made a perfect soundtrack to the hike.

We then ventured down to the Beach Boardwalk area where it was buy one get one all day ride pass! wooohoo. I was so excited to ride all the rides. They have this whole strip of rides just like a county fair, except it's there year round.  Now, I haven't been to a fair since High School but omg. I legit thought we were going to die on 90% of the rides. I mean, you can definitely hear creaks and cracks while waiting for your turn to get on the dang thing.  One of the roller-coasters track was super rusted and the other one had been in operation since 1924! And not to mention all the teenagers working these rides ... like, your whole life is in their teenager-y hands.
I'm definitely getting old and fearful.  I need to skydive before i completely lose the urge.

We obvi survived and I must say, I can't wait to go back!
Sunday was our early spring - spring cleaning day. This weekend we are going to try to downsize the furniture  in our office/guest room by selling it on craigslist. That way E can have his desk and I can have room for all my scrapbooking and stamping stuff. My craft stuff is all over the place! We certainly love our apartment, location, price etc.. but there is just not enough storage in this lil place!
I also made cupcakes for E's class. I'm such a good mommy..... I mean wifey! :)

On v day E cooked for us (Salmon and broccoli) twas super tasty and then we met up for drinks with some of our Fla friends who were in town visiting.
&& he gave me this gawww-jusss ring! It's a garnet (my fave and my birthstone)
he's so thoughtful and muy romantico!
