Yosemite trip and some boxed wine

We had a wonderful weekend in Yosemite and I already want to plan another trip back. Luckily they had some snow up there so Saturday we got to ski all day at Badger Pass (ca's oldest ski resort)! It was nice to not have to spend half the day in line at the lift like at some of the resorts in Tahoe. (don't get me wrong, I lovvve Tahoe and the all the ski options there but last time we were stuck in line/on lifts more than we were skiing)

This is where we stayed. It's basically a glorified tent. Apparently booking your trip 3 days before your trip leaves you with few options..... This I wouldn't mind normally, but normally it's not 18* under the canvas roof of where I rest my head. but nothing a few coors lights won't help!

after skiing we wanted to check out the "El Captain" rock.. every February this occurs when the sun goes down and hits Horsetail Falls. It's supposed to look like lava.. this is the picture I got but it was somewhat cloudy this night. Other pictures of it look way more awesome. like this & this. 

after sundown we got a deck of cards, pizza and some beer and headed to the lodge (where there was a fire place, thank god) and had a super intensely competitive nice relaxing game of cards. 

Sunday we hiked around, I'll save that for another post. my target wine cube is calling. what? it's only 11.99! for the amount of 2 bottles... it's award winning! don't act like you've never had wine from a box....

**ps- just saw Kacie B on Ellen. love that pink dress.. anyone know where she got it?? you can't tell in the pic but the back is all open. lovvee.

hello again blogland.

hello all!

my blog//life is about to undergo lots of changes.. we are moving from our great lil home in Cali a week from today! ((hence the name change)) I have so much I need to update on life and this time I'm really gonna try to stay on top of it. it's so nice to have entries to look back on and clearly I slacked in 2011. here's to 2012 being a better blog year.

In may we celebrated my dear sweet friend, Heather's, bachelorette party in Sin Cityyyy! the weekend was perfect.. I will direct you over to a lovely post Sarah made about it here since I forgot my stinkin camera. I do have a few iphone pics and some (read: one) I got off facebook.

playing catch up: (1) Fam visit//End of April

((Since I have seriously been slackin on the bloggin I'm going to do a little catch up series!  We've been busy with visitors and a couple trips to Vegas and one quick trip to Florida for a beautiful beach wedding.))

I did a little post when my mom, steppy, and brother arrived but never finished...

The Royal Wedding started at 1am here. so while most sane people just DVR'd it (I did, but just for mom. and to watch it as much as possible, duh) I set my alarm for 1, turned on the live coverage and baked a wedding cake for them. whatever, I'm festive..

ok. this is embarrassing, but it's true. and I know the cake is pretty ghetto with the blue gel frosting and all. it was 1am, people, remember??

anywho. along with royal wedding festivities we did lots of eating out and some hiking/sight seeing. I worked every day they were here (bummmmerrr) but we squeezed in as much as possible!

On their last night we went to Hula's for dinner!

after dinner William was so excited to finally have a "no parents allowed" sleepover where he had big hopes and dreams of "staying up all night" and playing video games til the wee hours.  En route from dinner to the house (like < 5 mins) E and will were acting all crazy and william started laughing so hard which progressed into a coughing fit which progressed into vomit all over the backseat of our car.  I couldn't help but laugh. I mean, it was funny. They're all "la la la.... silly song.... la la la la...having the best time ever.." and bam. vomit. (he was fine) but immediately took a bath, read his book and went to bed. the next day he told mom the only reason he didn't stay up all night was because he "partied too hard". hahahaa. love that kid.

ok, on to working on some more catch up posts. so stay tuned! (oh and I plan on getting to my emails soon, too. thanks for still reading/commenting even though i've sucked at my blog lately!!)
